Dear Mom,
I thoroughly enjoy reading your blog. However, I think you need a Facebook intervention. Not as much as some people (yes, evil stepmother, I mean you), but still. Break the cycle, Mother. Break. The. Cycle.
It has been a while since I have updated this, though not because I have become too happy or too sad to do it. If anything, I have been spending too much time working and/or sleeping to get to it. Although, I will say that there have been occasions when I wrote a real pen and paper letter to someone or made a phone call instead of blogging -which I will never feel the slightest bit guilty about.
In January, I finally went out to San Francisco again and saw SF Ballet's Swan Lake. Tschaikovsky is wonderful, but I'd forgotten just how soothing his music is and I was way too tired to be listening to it while sitting still. It was beautiful, though, and it is always fun to give a performance a post-mortem with my best friend. She's a riot and a great lover of the arts, as you know. Thanks to her, I've decided to make a list of things I want to do this year. And here they are:
-See Fiddler on the Roof starring Harvey Fierstein at the Golden Gate Theatre, even if I have to go alone
-See Wicked with Jenn at the Orpheum
-See a play, preferably something by Shakespeare, with Jess
-Go to the symphony
-Go to the opera
-On at least one of these occasions, buy a fancy, overpriced box seat with an excellent view
Now I have to go to sleep.
Jae
We can check off two of these things when you come visit. We have to go the the Carlo Felice Opera house to see an opera and a ballet.
