The plan was to get out of the apartment early and go run errands today: the Questura, the Mercato Orientale, the bakery my mom buys focaccia from, etc. Unfortunately, my mom woke up with a sore throat, my stepdad isn't feeling so hot himself and it is storming outside. The good news is that I love a good storm.
The first thing I see when I wake up - the Mediterranean is grey this morning, thanks to the oncoming storm.
Breakfast of honey water, celebration bread and The Murder Room by Michael Capuzzo on my Kindle.
I have done every dish in the house, eaten most of the celebration bread, had some coffee and now I'm doing all my internet errands while the parents take an afternoon nap. Hopefully my mom will have the energy to help me make the pizza tonight, otherwise I'm going to have to eat oatmeal or badly carbonized pizza for dinner.
Here's a question, What. The. Hell. My mom is so odd sometimes. Does the trash can in the bathroom really have to look like a rabbit-pig? I know, it's a pig, but I really thought it was a rabbit at first. Which would make sense, because she does have a freaky ass stuffed rabbit, just you wait and see.
This is not a bad way to spend my second day here. It's quiet but for the storm and I love the sound of rain and thunder. Ollie's cat Taser, a Tonkinese like my cat Ricochet who also used to belong to Ollie, is fun to hang out with. He likes to snake around the couch trying to get onto the laps of people who have recently kicked him off. He thinks he's stealthy, but really, not so much. I've just finished reading The Murder Room by Michael Capuzzo, so one of my tasks today is to buy The Murder Room by P.D. James. I've already had some weird dreams, but it's better to read this stuff while I'm around other people than home alone in Martinez. And none of the dreams are as bad as the time I did a two-day marathon of Wire in the Blood thanks to Netflix.
My mom keeps her evil kitchen imp up there. He needs to learn how to do dishes.
Morgan, fearful of the storm and in need of a shave.

Storm shutters closed in the bunny room, on the windy side. This room always gets the best light. But it also houses the totally freaky stuffed bunny man in tophat and suit. My brothers and I hate him, but my mom refuses to get rid of him. He's creepy. But now he's got a creepy pig cousin, just around the corner. Yay...or?
i don't want that bunny to be there...or the pig/bunny trash can. it's just not right. i want to lay on the floor and pet morgan, but call him max (little mermaid). show me some italian food, girl!! thanks for the pictures! :)
ReplyDeleteTrust me, you do not want to lay anywhere near him right now, he's stinky.
